Exhibition now open

Our very popular annual Summer Exhibition opened on Saturday 29th to a large audience of local people keen to see the fantastic work of the Club’s members.  The quality of the artwork this year is outstanding and really demonstrates the talent and creative energy that exists here in Ayrshire. All the entries for the Rita Cotter Prize (for local Primary Schools) are also on display.

The exhibition was opened this weekend by Philippa Whitford MP (Member for Central Ayrshire). She shared her experience of being an amateur artist and working full time as a Surgeon and MP, in her entertaining speech she urged the crowd to do their Christmas shopping now by investing in art.

There are over 200 hanging artworks available for sale and more non framed portfolio pieces available around the Hall.

The Charles Summers Plate for Best Seascape (judged by Roz Summers) was won by Fiona Acamovic and the Colin Baldry Quaich for best watercolour (judged by Gregor Smith) was won by Ian Leyden.

The Exhibition will continue in the Boys Brigade Hall, next to the Troon swimming pool to the 12th August.  Opening times are 11am to 7pm

A big thank you to Simpsinns and Troon Roundtable for their generous Sponsorship of the Exhibition over many years.
