A very instructive evening with Julie Smith. Julie took us, step by step, through her method of building up her wonderful, semi-abstract interpretations of the Scottish landscape.

Starting on a piece of board, Julie first added texture (with good old Polyfilla), then a bit of shine with metallic leaf, followed by a watercolour wash and finally touches of oil color.

She made it all look so simple! We’ll have the chance to try something similar next week when Julie will be in attendance with help and advice.
